FreeCAD Tutorial – General #18 – How to create a sketch

HOW TO CREATE A SKETCH Select the ‘Complete’, ‘Part Design’ or ‘Sketcher’ workbench. Click on ‘Create a new sketch’. The first sketch will be created
on the XY-Plane without offset. Click on the ‘View’ tab in the properties window. Set ‘Show Grid’ on ‘true’ to enable grid lines. The next sketch will be on the same
plane, but with an offset of -20. The next sketch will be on the same
plane, but with an offset of +20. As you see, the sketches are laying 20
units above and below the first sketch. The next sketch will be created in reverse direction. Here is where the sketch will be.
Not where the large circle is. ‘Reverse direction’ will be checked now. ‘Reverse direction’ won’t make the sketch come here. The Z-axis is pointing down now, because
‘Reverse direction’ was checked. The last sketch will be perpendicular
to the previous sketches It will be on the XZ-Plane. Click on ‘OK’ to confirm. Draw what you want and click
on ‘Close’ to leave the sketch. Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to like this video
